Description

Recent advances in AI herald a transformative potential for science, prompting us to rethink foundational concepts of data simulation, reconstruction and analysis approaches, scientific interpretations, as well as design aspects for future experiments. CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is one of the most compelling and promising scientific projects ever undertaken by mankind and the complexity of its data deluge makes it an ideal testbed for and beneficiary of AI applications. The seminar will present the state of the art of AI in high energy physics and discuss visions for future opportunities to automate and accelerate the scientific method in order to maximise science.
